Bitdefender USB Immunizer

A USB flash drive may contain auto-run malware, which can infect your system when you plug in the USB drive. Bitdefender USB Immunizer is designed to prevent such threats, without getting in your way, like other anti-malware applications. You just need to click a button and the application will immunize the USB device immediately.

Bitdefender USB Immunizer is free and you don't need to install it. The application can be launched right away, with a 3.88 MB executable. It works on both 32 and 64-bit Windows editions and it does not use too many resources.

The user interface is small and it does not present too many options. It displays four icons for different USB drive letters. If you plug in a USB device, its name will appear next to the corresponding drive letter. Clicking a device's icon will start the immunizing process right away. While immunizing, a progress bar will be displayed beneath the icon.

It takes a few seconds to immunize a USB device. While running, the application will block the auto-run feature of any USB drive, to prevent infections. If you immunize your device, its auto-run feature will be completely disabled, so you can use it on other computers, without risking an infection.

Alternatively, you can enable an automatic immunization feature, on a separate window. If you activate this feature, the application will immunize your USB drives automatically, when you plug them in.
